Last Friday, I started NewsTalk1010’s Jerry Agar on his new eating program and so far he has been doing great! He’s been ready for this for about a month and as I highlighted on the show last week, when you’re ready to make a change, the follow through and success is much better than if someone tells you to make a change. I’m proud of him and grateful to be on this journey with him. No one ever regretted eating better!
I did have quite a few emails asking about what Jerry’s doing so here’s a quick rundown:
I changed it up a bit from last week’s blog. He is following the Transform30 program and he’s taking Juice Plus+ capsules that are full of 27 fruits, vegetables, and berries. Juice Plus+ is a blend of juice, that’s made into a powder, by a cool and very high-tech process, then encapsulated. It offers a very digestible and easy way to get loads of fruits and veggies in, without having to juice pounds and pounds of produce, or clean the juicer! I gave him this because he doesn’t eat well enough to support his body. He needs antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, phytonutrients, and enzymes. That’s what he’s going to get with his daily Juice Plus+ capsules as well as improving his diet.
Where did 2016 go? I think I just blinked and there it went.
If you’re like most, you’re feeling motivated to do something different: change your mindset or habits, take up something new that you think will help you feel better. I feel motivated after a busy December and then a few chill out days after all the festivities. I am ready to get back on track with a bunch of things. One of them is of course, is food. After the overindulgences of the holiday season, I remember how crappy one can feel eating and drinking too much, just how addictive sugar is, how bloated I feel when I eat wheat, while neglecting fruits and vegetables.
Why yes, I did talk about a burger as an immune boosting food on CTV’s Your Morning. Along with a simple breakfast, lunch and a snack. Check out the segment: Your Morning Immune Boosting Foods.
I also spoke about the burger more with Jerry Agar on my regular NewsTalk1010 segment. Jerry and I have a long history of talking about burgers, so it was only fitting to discuss it during our regular Friday chat! Listen in below:
Many listeners texted and emailed in who wanted the recipe for the burger, so here you go!
It’s that time of year again. When alarm clocks are set, clothes laid out for the morning, and lunch bags filled. I know, I know you don’t want to do it. Hiding under the duvet dreaming of long summer nights is much more fun, but it’s time.
I’m going to keep this short and sweet and share my top 5 tips and advice for making this back to school lunch thing a breeze. And then share some of the great ideas that you’ll find in the Smart Kids Breakfast and Lunch Meal Plan.
